A true fusion of cultures, cuisines and flavours

Where it all began...

Victoria’s India was born nearly twenty years ago, as a restaurant in Longridge, Preston.

Then in 2007 we won the MOST WELCOMED NEW RESTAURANT at the Cobra Beer Good Curry Awards, at The Hilton Hotel, London.

Authentic Indian Influences

We were very fortunate to recruit an outstanding chef, Bishal Rasailfrom, from Chutney Mary’s in London. He was trained under the renowned Indian chef Imitiaz Qureshi of The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai fame. Bishal gave us a great insight into true Indian cooking and flavours. He gave us a knowledge of spices and the holistic effects they have on the body. He also sparked our interest in Tamarind and how versatile its flavour is.

Homemade delicacies

When our restaurant closed in the recession of 2009, we decided to produce our own home-made Indian sauces and chutney’s.

We therefore set up our kitchen at Bashall Barn, near Clitheroe and we were proud to supply several outlets in the area with our delicious products, including the ever-popular Huntley’s Farm Shop.

From this knowledge and experience, has grown a love of flavours from the Middle East, through to Indian and China. This has prompted us to now offer a range of ketchups and sauces, the first of which is Tamarind & Balsamic (TAMBAL)…

Our Unique Sauce ‘TAMBAL’

A description of our sauce … the first flavour that bursts on your palette is a sour balsamic tang! Then your tongue is flooded with a sweetness, which flows into our unique spices and Tamarind. Finally, as the flavour melts into aftertaste, you taste the warmth, coming from our sweet chilli.

We will be launching our new sauce in 2023, under our former restaurant name ‘Victoria’s India’. After careful thought and research, we have decided on a somewhat obvious choice of name, though unusual enough, TAMBAL.

TAMBAL is our unique recipe and a genuine fusion of world flavours and we believe it’s currently the only sauce with this flavour combination, available in the UK. We also intend producing a ‘2 chilli heat’ version of TAMBAL, for those who want that extra chilli kick! 

TAMBAL works well on most meats though when used on BLT’s, Ribs, Kebabs, or any meat that has fat, it enhances the flavour. It really dazzles on roast lamb or pork and works wonders with Asian and Chinese food.
